The League of European Research Universities (LERU) is a network of research-intensive universities in Europe. It was founded in 2002 and is composed of 23 member institutions from 12 different countries. LERU aims to promote research and education in Europe, to influence policy and to foster collaboration among its members. The member institutions are among the most prestigious universities in Europe, including the University of Cambridge, the University of Oxford, Imperial College London and the University of Paris-Saclay. The network works on issues such as research funding, research collaboration, education policy and the role of universities in society.
