The European Association of Institutions in Higher Education (EURASHE) is a non-profit organization representing universities of applied sciences and other professional higher education institutions across Europe. It was founded in 1990 with the aim of promoting the development and recognition of professional higher education in Europe.
EURASHE acts as a platform for exchange and cooperation between its member institutions and also engages with policy-makers and other stakeholders at the European level. Its main focus areas include the development of qualifications frameworks, quality assurance and accreditation, lifelong learning and the integration of research and innovation in professional higher education.
In terms of accreditation, EURASHE is a member of the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR) and has also developed its own accreditation system, the EUR-ACE label, which is specifically designed for engineering and technology programs. The EUR-ACE label aims to ensure that graduates from accredited programs have the knowledge, skills and competences required to work in their respective fields.
