Established in 1862, the Ministerul Educatiei ?i Cercetarii (Ministry of Education and Research) is a government ministry in Romania that is responsible for the development and implementation of policies related to education and scientific research. Its main tasks include:
- Developing policies and strategies for the development of education, including pre-university education, vocational training and higher education.
- Overseeing and managing public schools, universities and research centers.
- Encouraging and supporting scientific research and innovation.
- Promoting international cooperation in education and research.
