Established in 1930, the Baikal State University is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large city of Irkutsk (population range of 500,000-1,000,000 inhabitants), Irkutsk Oblast. This institution also has branch campuses in Chita, Ust-Ilimsk, Bratsk and Yakutsk. Officially recognized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, Baikal State University (BSU) is a large-sized (¿Û¿Û´«Ã½ enrollment range: 15,000-19,999 students) coeducational Russian higher education institution. Baikal State University (BSU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor's degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation), bachelor's degrees, master's degrees and doctorate degrees in several areas of study.
