Founded in 1950, the Kobe Women's University (Kobe Joshi Daigaku) is a private higher education institution located in the metropolis of Kobe (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants), Hyogo. Officially recognized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan, Kobe Women's University is a women only Japanese higher education institution. Kobe Women's University offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor's degrees, master's degrees and doctorate degrees in several areas of study.
